The City of Fontana is searching for responsible teens and young adults who enjoy swimming, working with kids, and have a great attitude and work ethic to join our Aquatics team! If this sounds like you, then you can become a as a Lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor for our upcoming Summer season!

Job Application and Testing Timeline
Employment applications will be available beginning January 3, 2022 on Government Jobs.
Once applications are processed, applicants will be invited and required to attend testing and interview in the month in which he or she applied for employment.

Work Permit
All high school students under the age of 18 must have a valid work permit in order to work. If you fall into this category, please see the steps below:
- Check with your school to determine if you qualify for a work permit. Your school will consider: GPA of 2.0 or higher and attendance (no attendance issues, excessive tardiness, truants and/or unexcused absences).
- If you qualify, your school will give you a Work Permit Application which permits you to start looking for a job.
- Complete the "Minor's Information" on the application.
- Have your legal parent/guardian sign the work permit.
- Complete the "Minor's Information" on the application.
- Take the Work Permit Application to City of Fontana's Human Resources Department to have them complete their section.
- Take the Work Permit Application to your school's District Office. Check with your school and school's District Office on appropriate days and times.
- Students can then pick up the completed Work Permit during non-school hours. Students must be present to sisgn document at the District Office. Photo ID typically required.
- Submit completed Work Permit to City of Fontana's Human Resources Department.
City of Fontana's Human Resources Department is open Monday through Thursday, 8am - 5pm at 8491 Sierra Ave. Suite B, Fontana, CA 92335.
