The Fontana’s Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is an award-winning, San Bernardino county recognized group of teens that dedicate their time and passion to assist in advancing our City. MYAC allows members ages 12 -18 years old the opportunity to become involved in their Community by establishing a foundation of leadership, promoting youth development, and providing civic engagement opportunities to young people in our community.
Must be within the Middle School and High School grade levels, ages 12 years old - 18 years old.
Fill out the MYAC application pages 3-5 including the short essay question answers.
Submit at least one letter of recommendation from a professional reference.

- Receive an MYAC Polo after completing a total of 30 community service hours. Earn up to 40+ hours of community service.
- Experience organizing the annual MYAC Teen Leadership Summit.
- Experience with special community philanthropy projects.
- Attend quarterly Commission and Council meetings to maintain membership.
- Ability to obtain a reference or recommendation letter. (Based on participation).
The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council 2022-2023 term begins the first Monday of July and ends the last Monday of June the following year. MYAC members will be given the chance to learn organizational, leadership, and public speaking skills. We provide students with a better understanding of local government as well as the chance to participate in local initiatives, campaigns, conferences, and events.
Board Members are required to meet the minimum requirements for membership. Students interested in becoming board members for the new term will be invited to an interview in the month of May with MYAC advisors, give a speech at the end of the year, and later be voted into office for the upcoming term. Board members must participate in all mandatory events, projects, and meetings. Board Members are voted into office at the annual MYAC Banquet for the upcoming term.
