Beat the Heat

Summer months bring fun, sun, and heat. However, it is crucial to stay safe in high heat, especially for children, pets, those who work outside, and those with certain health conditions. Stay cool and beat the heat by following these tips:

  • Cool off at the City's cooling centers (Senior Center and Heritage Center) from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cooling centers are activated when temperatures reach and exceed 100 degrees
  • Limit outdoor activities
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear light clothing
  • Wear sunscreen
  • Work outdoors early or very late in the day
