Paid Family Leave (PFL) Small Business Grant will pay up to $2,000 to small businesses impacted by paid family leave, to offset costs related to hiring or cross-training.
CA Small Businesses with 51-100 employees may receive a payment of $1,000 and a payment of $2,000 to CA Small Businesses with less than or equal to 50 employees who are utilizing the CA Paid Family Program.
PFL leave can be used for either:
- Care for a sick family member; or,
- Bond with a new child (biological, adopted, or foster)
- Or to participate in a qualifying military event.
Payments are made directly to the employer and will cover costs for:
- Training/cross-training someone to take over the duties of the employee while they are out on PFL; or
- To help recruit, market, and hire someone to fill those duties
