The City’s municipal elections are generally held on the first Tuesday in November in even-numbered years.

District Elections

On September 12, 2017, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1767 which established four (4) City Council Districts, a By-District Election System for members of the City Council and provided for the Mayor of the City of Fontana to be elected City-wide.

On April 12, 2022, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2022-023 which revised the four (4) City Council Districts. This revision was implemented based off of the 2020 U.S Census data process called redistricting.
